Baja California horses were introduced between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries by Spanish explorers. Back then, horses were indispensable during the mission period and the establishment of the first settlements in the region. It is precisely because of the rise of the ranches that horse breeding became so important, and this is something that continues today.
By offering riding lessons, occupational therapy, sales and recreational horseback riding at Rancho Tecate, we help maintain our proud legacy of horse breeding; a tradition that we have strengthened over the years at the Equestrian Center in Rancho Tecate (CERT) and Yeguada Casa Real (and equine breeding place).
Our Spanish horses are “Thoroughbreds” and carry the nobility and majesty of their kind with attributes that complement the natural wealth of the landscapes of Tecate.
