May, the month where the temperature is warmer, flower fields harvesting of the vine have matured and the desire to celebrate life intensifies. What advantages bring together all spring at a party? The Mediterranean climate and soil type in Baja California are possible with a celebration that begins the winegrowing traditions of the region: Vitis Verbena in Rancho Tecate.

A little history

In ancient Greece, Vitis Verbena was dedicated to Dionysus, god of wine, vintage, theater and gatherings. Following the conquest of Greece by Rome, the tradition of vitis was revived in honor of the god Bacchus, who was the Dionisio equivalent in Roman culture. The parties were pure excitement and fun, which sometimes lasted days! Attendees enjoyed food, dance and, above all, wine.

At Rancho Tecate this custom is commemorated with a much more familiar environment which invites the public to experience the place that began with the winemaking tradition in the region. The purpose is to enjoy a Mediterranean experience in the Heart of Baja California with branch collecting, treading grapes and wine tasting in the region.
